2. Doubts on the credibility of testimony of the former comfort women
* Testimony of 16 former comfort women that forms a basis of the "Kono comment" has not been released due to privacy concerns.
* Discrepancy is found in former comfort women's testimony publicly released, and some have been revised after such discrepancy was pointed out.
* Some testimonies greatly differ depending on the time and location of the testimony was made.
3. Doubts on the definition of comfort women issues as "holocaust in Asia" and as "a crime against humanity"
* Our country does not have intention of any nations' ethnic cleansing and extinction. Furthermore, more than half of the comfort women were Japanese.
* What is called "war crime" of Japan has already been judged at the International Military Tribunal for the Far East.
* Japan was not blamed for " crime against humanity" at the International Military Tribunal for the Far East.
* War crimes of Japan have already been judged. We are deeply concerned whether a resolution to accuse Japan infringe the principle of prohibiting double jeopardy.
* In 2006, the U.S. Supreme Court has come to a conclusion that comfort women issues have been settled with the San Francisco Peace Treaty.
